Engineering Award

At the South-East regional 'If you were an Engineer - What would you do?' prize-giving ceremony, Arthur's invention, the Smart Scooter 3000, was selected out of 74,000 entries to be a highly commended design.

The panel of judges praised Arthur for his traffic-reducing self-driving Smart Scooter 3000, which could be electric or human-powered, includes a seat "in case you need a rest", sensors to stop crashes and a SAT nav to get you to your destination.

The exhibition showcased other remarkable designs by talented young engineers. Notable amongst them were Ismail, Ayla and Dominic, whose projects were also shortlisted for distinction.

Arthur was presented with a framed certificate and a badge, marking his achievement and recognising his contribution to engineering innovation. Congratulations to Arthur and all the other young engineers who participated in this year's competition.
