Y5 have been getting to grips with debating!

 

In Geography, Year 5 have been researching the tropical rainforest.  We used our facts to create fantastic non-chronological reports, which were aimed at a younger audience.  Continuing our topic in English, we used our information from geography to write a balanced argument, where we made points for and against the destruction of the rainforest.  Finally, we held a gripping debate, where both sides put across their views clearly and confidently.  Countering points were well-made, and views were backed up with strong evidence.  Everyone did so well - it was a fantastic debate.  Well done Year 5!
